(This was originally posted in my blog during the summer and fall of 2005)
In 1983 (the year I was born) my mom saved the 1983 Sears and JC Penney Christmas catalogs. We thought we lost them when we moved to Wakefield in 2000, but when we were moving to Franklin last summer we found them again. They were severely water damaged though, hence these images being taken with my digital camera instead of scanned (and, my dad’s PC [my eMac is too new to use the scanner with] was dead at the moment).

Could you please help me find any information on the Country Hen Dishes sold at JC Penneys in 1983? My father is deceased and he gave me the whole set for Christmas 1983. In shipping from Ohio to California many were broken. UPS wants information even though I can not find them!

I’m trying to chow my daughter my favorite dress from 8th grade – I’m pretty sure it was in this catalog. Ruffled hem, jade cotton, lace-up front, 3/4 sleeves. I’m sure you’ve got a lot to keep you busy, but if you run across it I’d love a picture of it. Thanks!

My brother and I used to sit with dad and look through the Wishbook before Christmas. I remember page after page of Star Wars stuff in the late 70s. We would also look through the Craftsman Tool Catalog since it came out about the same time.
