The last Blockbuster in Hampton, VA (closed, October 2013)

Blockbuster, Hampton, VA, Closed October 2013

I visited this place during the last few days of their going out of business sale in October, right before Blockbuster made the unsurprising decision to close all their stores. The store mostly had 30 Rock DVD sets, and about 50 copies of Reneé Zellweger’s My One and Only. Oh, and lots of Angry Birds candy.

These are the best shots I could get from Google Maps:

Some points;

  • The Bradlees in the picture is where JCPenney is today, and before that an Uptons.
  • The movie theater next to the food court that is mentioned is a Old Navy now.
  • Leggett opened in 1989, and later became a Dillards

Blockbuster closing remaining US stores

Filed under: Blockbuster,dead chains — Anita @ 1:28 pm

I actually went to the closing sale of the very last Blockbuster in Hampton a week and a half ago. No pics though because the store was wide open and employees everywhere.
