Back in my day it was called Crestwood Plaza and in my childhood it was probably the best mall in town. It had something for everyone. You could tolerate looking for whatever your mom needed to get at Stix, Baer & Fuller (now Dillards), persuade her to buy you an Outback Red cardigan at The Limited, grab fettuccine alfredo for dinner at the Pasta House Company, head to the arcade to fish some stuffed animals out of a machine with a claw, maybe even catch a movie at the AMC Theater that had TEN SCREENS. It was living.

Wowwwwwww. I never thought I’d ever see an old Newmarket North Mall commercial on YouTube. This is amazing, check out the quick pics of the mall.

Bullseye eats dog food; Target will not divulge what kind. She enjoys many types of treats—no elaboration. She travels first-class; the type of carrier and all other travel arrangements are secret. She even has a rider, rock-star-style, that specifies her working conditions at events across the continent. These include a private space where she can retreat, Garbo-style, and a mandated number of breaks per hour. Target will not say how many.

I only found out about the short lived teen cosmetics store, Skinmarket through my regular searching on eBay for discontinued cosmetics. A few weeks ago, I ran across this bright yellow, sparkly eyeshadow:
My “brow” color is the skinmarket eyeshadow, the lid shadow is Neo Orange pigment from MAC.
Skinmarket’s web presence isn’t found easily online in 2013. I went on archive.org and only found one record of their website, from 2001. I took screencaps of what wasn’t broken from their website:

Wow, I accidentally hoarded this for years in my photobucket album. I got this in the mail some time in 2007, I think right after Coliseum mall was torn down. I’m trying to remember how I got my hands on it, I think I asked someone who was in charge of the transition process if the mall had their fixture sale yet, and of course in typical Anita fashion, I missed it. He offered to send me this though. There was some fantastic old photos of the mall in it:
