    As an old agoraphobe, most of my connection to Hampton Roads shopping places documented here is my mom dragged me to them as a kid (w-a-y back in the 60s & 70s).

    No mall visits in years. Xmas shopping has been all online.

    I think shift from print media predates internet use. But as local TV news tends to be more about “what bleeds”, anyone wanting to know about local events will likely read about them. Online or from the printed page.
