That Mall is sick and that Store is dead!

July 6, 2005

"the franchise collapsed under the weight of fewer and fewer people wanting to confirm that they shop at a place called "Coconuts."

On x-entertainment.com, there is a little section on old cereal prizes, and one Matt profiled was a Kelloggs Corn Flakes Mall Discount Card. I think I remember getting one of these in 1992, but having no use for it because those stores that were profiled were not at Coliseum or Newmarket Fair Mall. It probably sat and collected dust on my TV table and was finally thrown away a few months later.

  1. Waxie Maxie’s was another odd record store from back in the day.

  2. I remember a Coconuts on Indian River Rd, I got my first (and only) KoRn shirt there in, say, 1996. Mother’s music in Pembroke Mall. The Wall.. which had the most amazing warranty ever. They gave you a sticker for every CD purchased, which would give you a lifetime warranty (to whatever CD case you stuck the sticker on). I had a whole collection of Wall stickers, just waiting to be used. Then they closed.
